However, there are\u00a0some other things to take into account even if an evacuation\u00a0has not been ordered by authorities.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\"><strong>If you live in a mobile home or other forms of temporary structure, you should evacuate. These builds are not\u00a0designed to withstand hurricanes.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><strong>If you\u2019re in a high-rise building, it\u2019s important to evacuate.\u00a0Winds can cause extensive damage.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><strong>If your home is located in a floodplain, it\u2019s a good idea\u00a0to evacuate even if an official order has not been declared.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\">If your home is in a low-lying area, you may still want to evacuate\u00a0to higher ground. This is particularly important in an area where\u00a0flooding is anticipated.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">If you do stay home, be sure to keep your distance from windows\u00a0and glass storm doors.
